Dating apps, and the prospective mates we discover there, can be messy and perplexing. There's a consistent comment that comes up time and time again from men who are looking to meet eligible women. In "Katoya", we reverse direction and turn that comment back on the usual suspects.

Adam Smith Jr.

[DIRECTOR, DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY] Adam Smith Jr. is a multi-disciplinary artist with experience in photography, cinematography, directing, and acting. He has performed in Off-Broadway and regional productions and appeared on acclaimed TV series including HBO's 'Divorce,' 'Billions,' 'The Blacklist,' and 'Law & Order.' He is currently producing three indie films and the Off-Broadway play COWBOY: The Story of Bass Reeves. His past credits include Sistas: The Musical and Trial on The Potomac, starring Rich Little. 

 

Brandon James Gwinn

[WRITTEN & PERFORMED: ‘What Are Your Waiting For‘, ORIGINAL SONG] Brandon James Gwinn (he/they) is a Drama League nominated and Richard Rodgers Award winning composer-lyricist, performer and producer. Lorna Pérez

[EDITOR] Lorna began her artistic journey at a young age, eventually earning a degree in Voice Performance from the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music. Beyond performing, she ventured into filmmaking, producing and co-writing her debut short film, "The Studio Upstairs." Alongside her husband, she currently operates "The Brownstone Class," an acting workshop focused on refining on-camera techniques, gaining practical experience, and building community within the industry.

 

Cameron Bowen

Guy LeMonnier

[MAN] Guy LeMonnier is a New York based actor and singer hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is most widely known for playing Henry Jekyll in the national tour of Jekyll and Hyde and as an original member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra with whom he toured every corner of the country garnering a large following of fans. Most recently, he has appeared in roles on the hit tv shows: “Lioness,” “Blue Bloods” (criminal attorney Dale Quinn), “Gotham,” “Power” and “House of Cards,” among others. Guy performed as Phileas Fogg in the 45th street theater production of Around the World in 80 Days, and tours yearly with the rock Christmas spectacular The Wizards of Winter. He also had the distinct pleasure of playing the dynamic role of Dr. Fred Mullins in the Omar Bakry play Superman and Serena. Theater credits include Off-Broadway, regional theater and national tours of Broadway musicals.

 

Bo Bogle

[BARTENDER] Bo Bogle appeared in “Tax Day”, “Daddy Issues”, “The Studio Upstairs” and his stunning portrayal of “Flying Monkey #2” in an 8th grade production of The Wizard of Oz set him firmly on his current career path. Bo is excited to have been able to work on this project and hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do.

 

Theresa Rose

[SCREENWRITER, WOMAN] Theresa Rose has appeared in theater, film, cabaret, behind the scenes she has directed and produced a podcast. Past credits: Adults Only, Runaway, From The Mixed Up Files Of My Background Check, The Deciders, The Street, Daddy Was The Biggest Stagemother in Texas, and "Love and Class in Connecticut".

 

THE BROWNSTONE CLASS

[PRODUCER] In the Spring of 2023, The Brownstone Class began creating and producing short films. The first one, titled "The Studio Upstairs," featured four distinct scenes that revolve around one mysterious character. This project was shot on-site at the art studio of well-known painter, Ezra Cohen. The second short film, named "Tax Day" and drawing inspiration from the COVID-19 pandemic, was produced on a set located in a local midtown bar over two consecutive overnight sessions. Currently, the short films "The Studio Upstairs" and "Tax Day" are in post production. 

 

IRONROSE PRODUCTIONS

[PRODUCER] Ironrose Productions was created to offer opportunities to grow and learn behind the scenes on stage and screen. "Katoya", is our inaugural film. Past projects include: “We Used To Call You Doc”, “Marcus Is Walking”, “Two Rooms”, “The Illusion” and “Blue Window”.
